Power Verse of the Day

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. – Psalm 91:11-12 (KJV)

charge – to impute; ascribe the responsibility for; to lay a command or injunction upon
Synonyms: commission, trust

bear – to hold up, support or remain firm under; to hold or carry; to press or push against; to sustain without yielding or suffering injury; to accept or have, as an obligation
Synonyms: uphold, sustain; thrust, drive, force

dash – to ruin or frustrate (hopes, plans, etc.); to depress; dispirit; to confound or abash

God has placed angels (note the “s” on angel…there’s not one, but multiple angels) all around us, and these angels have been entrusted with the responsibility of holding us up—thrusting, driving, forcing us up, into the places we have been called—so that our God-given hopes and plans will not fall into ruin.

It just thrills me to know that God has charged multiple angels (not cute, fat, little winged cherubs, but big, strong, mighty, heavenly warriors!) with the responsibility of ensuring that I am sustained. Whether experiencing times of weakness or times of incredible strength, the angels are constantly available to help thrust me upward, into the places that God has called me. And, as I step into these God-designed places, driven by the very angels of Heaven, they are keeping me from ruin, despair, frustration, and depression.

I don’t know about anyone else, but this makes me feel fiercely able to do above and beyond all that I’ve ever thought or imagined to fulfill the plans that God Himself has given me…the plans that feel too big…the places that make me feel too vulnerable…the jobs that make me feel too inadequate. He has called me and qualified me for His service, and He has set His angels in place to war against any demonic or oppressive spirit who may try to convince me otherwise.

With this kind of support, how could we ever be afraid to walk boldly into His plans for us? How could we ever feel alone? How great is our God?!

Thank you, Lord, for Your big, scary plans. Thank You for having confidence in me and for sending a team of angels to help me fulfill all the plans that You have shown me…and even the ones that You haven’t yet told me about! Thank You for speaking directly to my heart and for reassuring me once again. I know…You got this. 🙂 ❤
